Sebelum saat fifam serta tcm, ea sports merilis FIFA Soccer Manager serta the The FA Premier League Football Manager 99, 2000, 2001 serta 2002, namun sesaat yang pertama sukses menarik perhatian sebagian, yang paling akhir yang dirilis saat pasar game untuk mengelola kejuaraan biasa judul manajer dekat dengan tak ada, serta sesudah dua gelar sukses, itu jatuh.

Sesaat seri tcm sudah dirilis untuk pc, xbox serta playstation 2, seri fifam cuma ada untuk pc. versi ps2 serta xbox dari permainan dikembangkan untuk ea kanada oleh creations budcat.
